Moyra Davey is a Canadian-born photographer and writer, who now lives and works in New York. Her work focuses down on objects and their individual histories. Davey's photographs and writings (ed. of Mother Reader, author of The Problem of Reading and Long Life Cool White) have this lovely sense of intimacy to them.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs is an American band formed by vocalist and pianist Karen O (1978- ), keyboardist Nick Zinner (1974- ), and drummer Brian Chase (1978- ). Something about Karen O's feral cat voice is hypnotizing.
Chan Marshall is an American singer and songwriter who performs under the name Cat Power. Marshall was born in 1972, and her voice is one of the most delicate and melancholy things I have ever heard. It's wonderful.
