Marcel Duchamp was a French/American artist known for his association with the Dada and Surrealist movements, along with his highly controversial works. He questioned traditional ideas regarding art and art making, through his actions and artwork. Duchamp was particularly known for his readymades, ordinary manufactured objects that he found and displayed as art.
